Day 2
After breakfast you will check out of the hotel and be transferred to Cairo airport to board your flight to Luxor.
On arrival in Luxor you will be transferred to your 5-star luxury Nile cruise ship for embarkation and lunch on board.
In the afternoon you will visit Luxor and Karnak Temples on the East Bank. You will again dine on board.
Enjoy a leisurely cruise on the Nile enjoying the comfort of a first class, 5-star ship. The timelessness and serenity of life along the Nile makes an indelible impression. Cruise lovers will find luxury accommodations with the bonus of a great history lesson.
The waters of the mighty Nile allowed the otherwise dry land of Egypt to become a cradle for one of the world's greatest ancient civilizations. From the start of the Old Kingdom around 2686 BCE, an era of rule by pharaohs of more than 30 family dynasties continued almost unbroken for nearly 3000 years. After the glorious New Kingdom, the age of the Egyptian pharaohs ended with decline and rule by the Ptolemies. Today, we can travel along the Nile and explore a succession of old temples and tombs that are testimonies to the remarkable achievements of the people of ancient Egypt.

Day 4
After breakfast you will visit Horus Temple in Edfu. There was worship of Horus in Edfu throughout the Dynastic Period, but the Horus Temple that we see today is from the Ptolemaic Era. It was started by Ptolemy III in 237 BCE, and finished 200 years later in 57 BCE.
The entrance to the temple is through a massive, 36m (118 ft) high pylon. The pylons show the God Horus, his wife, the Goddess Hathor, and the Pharaoh, grabbing his enemies by the hair, ready to smash their heads, a typical propaganda pose of the Pharaoh. The entrance is flanked by two huge, exquisite granite Horus falcons. It leads into the Great Court. The walls here are lined with reliefs, one of them showing the "Feast of the Beautiful Meeting". Annually Horus of Edfu and Hathor of Dendara were brought together during a big celebration.
From here you will sail to Kom Ombo which is an agricultural town in Egypt famous for the Temple of Kom Ombo. It was originally an Egyptian city called Nubt, meaning City of Gold (not to be confused with the city north of Naqada that was also called Nubt/Ombos). It became a Greek settlement during the Greco-Roman Period. The town's location on the Nile 50 km north of Aswan (Syene) gave it some control over trade routes from Nubia to the Nile Valley, but its main rise to prominence came with the erection of the temple in the 2nd century BC. Lunch will be on board. After lunch you will visit the Temple of the Two Gods Sobek and Haroeris. We continue sailing to Aswan. Dinner will be on board.

Day 5

You will also have a chance to visit the Botanical Gardens by Felucca. These traditional Egyptian sailing boats silently criss-cross the Nile all day long, with their tall white sails which are perfectly designed for catching the breeze.
Your felucca ride to Kitchener Island takes around 20 minutes, depending on wind speed and Nile currents, and on arrival your guide will accompany you to Aswan Botanic Gardens. Visit the small botanical museum before strolling through the tranquil gardens which are home to many exotic species of plants and trees imported from all around the world. The Aswan Botanic Gardens are a quiet and peaceful oasis from the hustle and bustle of everyday Egyptian life, and young couples and families from Aswan often spend their day enjoying the island. Dinner on board.

The Pyramids of Giza are the most famous monuments of ancient Egypt. These massive stone structures were built around 4500 years ago on a rocky desert plateau close to the Nile. But the intriguing Egyptian pyramids were more than just tombs for kings. The mysteries surrounding their symbolism, design and purpose have inspired passionate debate.
