Day 2 (Saturday)
After breakfast, Head north of Nairobi, and drive through the green valleys that skirt the foothills of Mount Kenya before winding up her forested slopes to arrive in the private wilderness that surrounds the Mount Kenya Safari Club. Lunch will be served at the Club while in the afternoon you are free to relax and enjoy any of the activities offered by the Club.

Set within its own 1,000 acre private game conservancy, which includes a 9-hole golf course, The Mount Kenya Safari Club straddles the equator, which runs through the centre of its gracious colonial buildings. Built in the 1930s as a dream home by a New York matron for her young French aviator husband, the house was originally called Mawingo (clouds), in recognition of its lofty location and stunning panorama of sky, forest and glittering mountain peaks. In 1948 it became a hotel, and in 1959 the film star William Holden turned it into one of the most exclusive private clubs in the world.

Today the Club offers an elegant dining room with open-air terrace, a central garden courtyard where Maasai dance displays are staged, a stunning "Trophy Lounge" and cocktail lounge, which features an impressive gallery of signed Hollywood glamour shots.

The guest rooms are spaciously and offer both elegance and an unrivalled sense of history.

The Club offers an Animal orphanage, bowling green, croquet lawn, trout fishing streams, maze, putting green, rose gardens, 9-hole golf course, heated swimming pool, horseback riding on forest trails, guided forest walks, tennis, table tennis, museum of African art, tribal dances, fashion boutique, and gift shops as well as health and beauty treatments.

Mount Kenya National Park is one of the world's highest National Parks. Mount Kenya is an extinct volcano some three-and-a half million-years-old, which sits astride the equator, and is uniquely capped with tropical ice.

Day 3 (Sunday)
After a lavish buffet breakfast at the Club, continue your journey north to the Samburu National Reserve arriving in time for a relaxed lunch at Samburu Intrepids Club.
In the afternoon, take your first game drive through this remote, arid and beautiful reserve. Return in the late afternoon in time for a swim, drinks overlooking the wildlife of the river, and dinner in the rustically thatched central dining room.

Samburu Intrepids stands on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in the arid heart of the Samburu National Reserve. The central dining and lounge areas are built predominantly from timber and thatch connected by wooden walkways that link them to the game-viewing decks that overlook the river where herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra come daily to drink. The camp offers just 27 luxury tents, which are strung out along the sandy river bank beneath the trees. Each has an ensuite bathroom, large four-poster bed and classic mahogany safari furniture, and a private verandah with all-day bar service.
The camp offers a luxury swimming pool and sun-lounging deck, cultural tours, traditional Samburu dance performances, wildlife talks, camel rides, nature and bird walks.

Day 4 (Monday)
Take an early-morning game drive: the best time to view the animals, which tend to be more active in the cool of the day. Return to camp for a full English breakfast and a little relaxation before lunch. In the afternoon explore another area of this exceptionally varied reserve before returning to camp for dinner.

The 104 sq kilometres of the Samburu National Reserve is a place of endless
skies and hazy hills. The reserve skirts the forbidding cliffs of Ololokwe Mountain and is irrigated by the winding coils of the Ewaso Nyiro River, home to wallowing hippos and basking crocodiles. Standing on the edge of the vast desert once known as the Northern Frontier District, this harsh but stunning landscape provides one of the few sanctuaries in Kenya for the endangered Grevy's zebra, the rare Beisa oryx and the blue-shanked Somali ostrich whilst large herds of elephant roam the gaunt hills by day, returning at dusk to bathe on the banks of the river.
Accommodation: Samburu Intrepids (B, L, D)
Day 5 (Tuesday)
After breakfast in camp, drive to Samburu Airstrip for your flight to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will be met by your driver guide who will take you on your first game drive in this famous reserve, arriving at your luxury tented camp, Mara Intrepids in time for lunch.

Beautifully located, on a sweeping bend in the Talek River, at the confluence of the Masai Mara's four game-viewing areas, Mara Intrepids enjoys one of the most spectacular locations in the Masai Mara ecosystem, which is famous for its elephants, rhinos, buffalos and "big cats". Located just a short drive from the famous Mara River, the camp promises some of the world's finest game viewing. There is a floodlit viewing
platform where its common to see a nightly appearances of a leopard.

The luxury tents, which line the river bank, feature canopied beds, and handcrafted safari furniture. Each has an ensuite bathroom and a private verandah.

In the cool of the afternoon take a game-drive amid the rolling savannah of the Mara. This offers the ideal hunting ground for Kenya's famous "big cats", hosting Kenya's largest population of lions. In the late afternoon return to the camp in time for a swim, game-viewing on the riverside, and dinner.

World-renowned for the breathtaking spectacle of "the greatest wildlife show on earth", the annual migration of over one million wildebeest and their attendant cast of plains game and predators, the Mara is Kenya's most visited protected area. Technically an extension of Tanzania's renowned Serengeti National Park, the Mara constitutes only 4% of the entire Serengeti ecosystem but its rolling grasslands, meandering rivers and towering escarpments offer one of the world's most rewarding and evocative wildlife arenas.

A pristine wilderness of haunting beauty, it promises its visitors a profusion of wildlife, prolific bird life and the unprecedented opportunity of catching up with all the members of the "Big Five" in one morning.
